Humanitarian Visas
Humanitarian visas are very specific and can only be applied to those who are facing situations of life or death. These types of visas can be obtained for medical treatment, however, since they are requested by so many applicants, they are distributed very meticulously and for the more extreme cases. Other types of action to pursue include Asylum/withholding of removal, Convention Against Torture (CAT), NACARA (Nicaragua and Central American Relief Act), Temporary protected status, Victims of crimes, Trafficking (T-visa), Battered spouses (VAWA), and Humanitarian parole. You may apply for asylum/withholding of removal if you can prove that you fear for your life or freedom due to your race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
