Democrats Determined to Help DREAMERS

Jul 30, 2021

After the decision by a federal judge to block new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applicants, House Democrats are facing pressure to find a pathway for citizenship for “DREAMERS”. With little progress made, Democrats are leaning towards an immigration reform via reconciliation as part of a proposed spending budget. If used, this will bypass the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster, however this would not take place likely until Fall. Meanwhile the new DACA applications filed with USCIS will stay dormant until further notice.

We anticipate more information released about the future of DACA and its recipients within the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you are part of the affected group or have an inquiry about your own immigration case, give Law Office of Wiliani-Malek a call at (714) 432 – 1333.
