DACA is Still Prioritized

May 14, 2021

President Biden is making sure that people know that he is still adamant about providing a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, particularly DACA recipients. The president will be meeting with six DACA recipients in the Oval Office this week. This is notably only the second time that DACA recipients have been invited to the Oval Office – the first in 2005 when the president was vice president.

President Biden has asked that lawmakers “end [the] exhausting war over immigration” and secure more protection for over 11 million undocumented individuals in the United States. As written in our blog posting on March 26, 2021, the House of Representative have passed two bills that will provide DACA recipients, Temporary Protected Status recipients, and farmworkers a track to receive citizenship. Now, the bills are waiting in Senate to be voted on.

Law Offices of Wiliani-Malek will stay updated as this events progress. In the meantime, should you have an inquiry about the status of your immigration case, give us a call at (714) 432 – 1333 and we’d be happy to help!
