The media reports that President-elect Biden has continued to mention for a third stimulus check to assist Americans during the pandemic. He states that tall taxpayers, not just those who have a Social Security Number, be entitled to a stimulus check. For the previous stimulus checks, undocumented dependents of U.S. citizens, such as spouses and children have been left out of the payments. In addition, if the undocumented individual did not have a Social Security Number and filed taxes with an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number), the individual also did not receive a stimulus check. The third stimulus bill, however, is expected to include $600 for each undocumented dependent. Furthermore, when 2020 taxes are filed, it is possible that they will also receive retroactive payments from previous stimulus bills.
Immigrants will be a focus of the third stimulus bill as there are millions of immigrants who have made an impact in serving their communities and country during the pandemic.
