The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals temporary stopped a District Court decision that halted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) public charge rule, allowing the immigration agency to continue enforcing the rule as of now.
CBS News reported that U.S. District Court of Illinois decided earlier this week to reject the public charge rule because it is “repugnant to the American Dream,” as agreed on by other federal judges. This decision was quickly overturned by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals has stated that the public charge rule can be reinstated for the time being until they make a final decision.
