Today, USCIS announced a final rule regarding the new fee schedule in order for the organization to meet cost of services and operational needs. Most of the fees have increased 5 – 546% by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The fee revisions are to prevent USCIS from being underfunded, as written in their news release. For more information, read the USCIS News Release or PDF to see the fee adjustments (starts at the bottom of page 13).
As the preparation and completion of such documents takes several weeks, potential applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible before the fee increase goes into effect. Contact us today to get started on your case because these fee revisions will apply for any application received on or after October 2, 2020.
