U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced that they will not restore DACA to the status it was before President Trump’s attempted recission in 2017. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf (pictured) stated that DHS will reject all first-time applicants for DACA, reject new and pending requests for advanced parole for most cases, and reduce the period for current DACA holders from two years to one year. Wolf also mentioned that the Department will continue to look at DACA and consider possible actions in the future.
We will keep an eye on the situation and see if there are any new official updates for DACA. If you need assistance with your U.S. Immigration concerns or questions, contact our office at (714) 432-1333.
